Who we are

We are GetMeTech IT Consulting, also registered in the State of Texas as GetMeTech Security Cameras. We deliver contracted technical services to customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. Our website address is https://www.getmetech.com

Overview

As a general rule, we do not collect or store any of your personal information except in very rare instances where you expressly provide it in the below mentioned ways. We take privacy seriously and we continue to stay aprised of changes in the date acquisition industry so that we can help prevent our customers from being taken advantage of. Our website was designed in a way not to include any third-party trackers from social media sites or other companies and we never share your contact details or any information provided with any other party.

ANALYTICS

We have switched to a new method to analyze website viewership, that does not require third party JavaScript and is privacy-respecting. We are also making website analytics optional. Website analytics help us determine which types of content visitors like the most so we can develop more content you like. You can opt out if you choose to do so and that can be done by declining to accept the prompt given to you when you first visit our site.

You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.

ADVERTISING

You may be served advertisements in the blog section of our website. The blog section is a place where we post free technology related articles. In order to subsidize publishing our research, we may display ads but we aim to serve them in a friendly and noninvasive way. Most of the site is completely ad-free but starting around August 2023, we have been experimenting with placing ads on certain articles. At this time, there is only one form of advertising in use — the Amazon Associates program.

AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE

UPDATE February 16th, 2024: Our new website does not currently have any Amazon affiliate links but we have left the following provision for now, as sites we link to may have Amazon Affiliate links

getmetech.com is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This means that if you click on an affiliate link on our site and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps us maintain and improve our site, providing you with valuable and up-to-date information on the latest technology topics.

We only recommend products and services that we have personally tested or researched and believe will add value to your life. The decision to purchase through our affiliate links is entirely yours, and your support is greatly appreciated. Read on for further details on how to prevent being affected by an Amazon cookie and if you have any questions, please contact us at info@getmetech.com.

Amazon Associates Program

The Amazon Associates program is a way for us to earn a small commission when you purchase a product through a link on our website. This works by using a cookie or other type of tracking ID that is passed along in your web browser when you click the link. If you do not want to support us in this way, you are welcome to start a new "private browsing" web browser window and search for the product manually. You can also clear recent browsing data to remove the affiliate cookie.

Once you leave our site through one of these links, you will be on Amazon.com. Our privacy policy only covers activity on our website. If you would like to learn more about Amazon’s privacy practices, you can do so at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=468496

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.), although this is rare and is usually only done to display videos that may be hosted on YouTube.com or a similar site. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We are committed to customer privacy and adhere to strict privacy standards when it comes to handling any information you provide either internally within the company or while visiting our website so rest assured that our website and company operations have been designed with that in mind to ensure confidentiality and discretion in all areas of our business. We are a local Dallas IT Consulting Contractor who is interested in helping those who would like to utilize our services. We are not engaged in data mining, data sharing or any other type of activity and our website’s purpose is to provide information about our services, as a means of establishing contact with those who are interested in utilizing our technical services. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

YOUR RIGHTS

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. This may be done with Google’s reCAPTCHA technology and is used to avoid bots or other automated systems from posting spurious content to our website or entering it into one of our forms. In cases where you see forms that use this technology, there will always be information stating the technology being used accompanied with a link to the Privacy Policy of said service. Information about the reCAPTCHA spam prevention technology can be found on Google’s website here: https://support.google.com/recaptcha/
